Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an effective from of medical treatment developed in China over 5,000 years ago.  Acupuncture promotes health and alleviates sickness through the stimulation of anatomical points by the use of superficially inserted thin needles.  It allows for a stronger immune system, enhanced physical and emotional health, and improves overall well-being.

What is Qi?

The basis of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the belief that Qi or “Life Energy” flows through specific pathways called meridians.  Each meridian is then connected to a specific organ.  Similar to rivers, meridian pathways flow and bring Qi to every cell, tissue, organ in the body.  Any obstruction of the flow of Qi leads to an imbalance.  When this imbalance is prolonged or in excess, pain and disease can occur.

What causes Qi to get stuck?

Various things such as: accidents, physical and emotional trauma, poor dieting, overexertion, and seasonal changes could produce an imbalance.  Through the insertion of sterile, disposable needles the balance is thereby restored and Qi is allowed to circulate freely throughout the body, resulting in a pain-free state of being.

Acupuncture is a safe and a drug-free therapy that relieves pain and treats an array of medical conditions.  It is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and National Institute of Health (NIH) as effective in treating the following conditions:
